No lanyard? Do any small flashlights have a lanyard hole large enough for a strand of paracord?

Surprising amount of misinformation in this vid.

Lithium CR123 cells are indeed expensive. But only from stores. Best way to save money on them is buy online, in bulk, and Made in America cells. Huge savings there. Beware of cheap ones from China that can cause a flashlight to vent with flame.

Any LED flashlight will be brighter and have longer runtime compared to even a quality incandescent light. It's not just the XL50. Lithiums in LED lights will blow an XL50 out of the water.

Sorry. Forgot to add that unlike alkaline batteries, lithiums don't leak. That, along with their 10-year shelf life, makes them the best for long-term storage just about anywhere. Especially in a BOB. LED technology advances even faster than computer technology. A recent LED model running on a single CR123 cell can give several hours of runtime on a low setting, while making it seem as though you've got the power of the sun in another setting.

@NGMonocrom The purpose of using a light like this are the batteries are common. Almost every household, store, 2nd hand remote, or toy will have series A batteries. This is the mindset. I think he knows what a lithium battery is... -_-

@aaronscrewme

If you put a high-performance engine intro a tractor-trailer truck, you can't then say that it's not good because you couldn't get 0-60 performance out of it under 5 seconds. Streamlight Scorpion has been obsolete for about 4 years now. Put CR123 cells into a more modern LED light, and you will see a difference.

As for AA and AAA cells, they make those in lithiums as well. Alkies leak. When a flashlight company uses a 3AAA battery-carrier, they cheaped out.
